# Rødberget — Tana's most spectacular summit hike Want to experience one of North Norway's most dramatic views? Rødberget at the mouth of Tanaelva is the answer. This 330-meter peak lives up to its reputation — from the cairn it plunges a full 300 meters straight down towards Birkestrandsletta. Both beautiful and a bit scary, we must admit. The start is easy with a tractor road, but after 500 meters a small ford awaits where you'll get wet feet. From there it goes dry and nice further up Klokkarskaret — an old travel route that has been developed in the steepest section. In total it is about 3 kilometers to the top from the starting point at Skugge. The trail is not marked, so orientation is required. But when you finally reach the top, you understand why this hike is worth it. A true gem for hikers in Tana.
